I can hardly believe it myself but Proex ACTUALLY closed early today due to the god awful blast of snow we are getting... AGAIN! We got to close at 4. very unsual. generally they make us stay open.
John got done with work at 11 30 so he was nice enough to come and get me. he just struggeled getting the car in the garage. he is crabby now because he got stuck a bit, spinning the wheels and such.
Our district manager said even Southdale closed early. for those on my friends list not in the area, we just got a blast of about 8 inches of snow last weekend and its expected to get about 8-15 total out of this blast. the snow is blowing all over the place too.
i am glad to be home now and not out in it. i have to work at 8 tomorrow morning. it should be fun
trying to get through the snow. luckily i take the bus, so i am sure i can get there...
so all of you out there who are still working, i hope your drive home is safe one... |

Just a little fyi for all you Office and Joss Whedon fans... he directs the episode that is on tonight!
what else is new? i am sick. i have a horrible cold. i called in sick today from work. i want to be feeling better since i work this weekend. at least i have tomorrow off also. the day of rest today has helped.
work has been really slow these dsys. my boss says we are down $4000 from last year. he may have to lay some of our part time people off or REALLY limit their hours.
we are contemplating a vacation in the near future. we have enough money from our taxes and some money i got when my Grandma passed away to do it. We are seriously considering going to Hawaii.
i have ALWAYS wanted to go their and John has a friend from his air force days that is stationed in Honolulu that he would like to see again.
the cats are good. Oscar is really trying to master a way to use his paws to open our bedroom door at night. he sits out their and cries and reaches his paws and extends himself to as tall as he can get and wraps his paws around the doorknob! he actually is getting the hang of it. he can move it a little bit. Joey loves to sit behind me and lick my hair. he has been near me most of the day. i think he senses i don't feel well.

This is a really funny story from my day I thought you all might enjoy.
I just finished helping a customer do a studio order and i went to the register to ring her up.
there was another customer right next to her being helped by another one of my coworkers.
my customer wanted to ask me one more question before she left. she starts to ask me this question and this old lady says "could you stop talking RIGHT next to me"? i can't hear anything at all out of this ear because YOU(meaning my customer) was talking too loud. My customer says "excuse me but i was talking to the woman behind the counter NOT you or TO you" basically mind your own business.
i proceeded to tell my customer "i'm sorry about that" i was in shock. i could not BELIEVE how incredibly RUDE this old bitch of a woman was being! My customer said, "no that's okay" and the old bitch thought my customer was talking to her and said "no it is NOT okay"
my customer almost left and she was beat red in the face because this woman was being such an ass. i got her to come around the corner, further away and she got to ask her question and i got to apologize again. my customer was totally cool about it. i don't know if i could have been in her shoes.

So far, so good. I just got a call from the vet. Annie is stable right now. Her levels are okay. The vet is going to continue to monitor her and she will most likely go to the emergency clinic again tonight. She is a tough little girl.
Please and thank you to everyone for your concern and prayers. Please keep them up. with thanksgiving coming up tomorrow, i am grateful for all of you and for the wonderful vets doing everything they can do to pull my little Annie girl through this. |

Annie is back to not doing very well. long story short. we will know if she will turn around in 24 hours.
i am really depressed right now. i really don't think i can take putting another cat down easily SO soon after Noah.
everyone please say a prayer for her. she needs all the help she can get.

Here is an update on my Annie girl. She is home. for now. She hasn't gained or lost any weight. one of the liver values has gone down a bit. which is good news. she is keeping her food down too which is also good news. She needs to continue keeping her food down. she is still being fed through a feedig tube. We have to feed her every two hours up until around 11 or 12 at night. she is up in our bedroom now. isolating her from our other two trouble makers.
She is going to go back monday. not sure if its to stay again or just to check her progress. if she does vomit, the vet gave us his cell number and we need to call him immediately.
we also have to give her shots. mostly drugs to fight the nausceous feeling she can experience from lack of eating.
so far so good. i pray she keeps her food down and get healthy again. I am really NOT mentally prepared to lose another cat again.
so thats all i know for now. will keep you posted as we know more. |

okay back to your regurally scheduled journal post. just had to get that out...
I have been sick for the past couple of days. nasty cold. on tues night while at work, i realized that what i thought may have been allergies, was a cold. i left work early on tues night, even told my boss (left a note) that i wouldn't be in on wed. so i went to bed real early on tues night and slept alot on wed. i work today, did leave early because it was slow and i still am not feeling the best.
the new cats are starting to get along better. Annie has been kind of anti social the past couple of days. she likes to sleep on the guest room bed on the pillow. Joey and Oscar...yes we picked a name for the orange cat....love to chase each other around the house. we think it will help keep Joey feeling young. Oscar loves to eat plants and batt anything around the house. he also stares and meows at the fish tank. John fears he is going to try and succeed in jumping in one day.
work has been about the same. i have to work this weekend. at least our dm won't be hounding me then. she's just a bitch these days. really becoming a ritz drone. i know she gets her ass chewed from above but she doesn't have to take it out on us so much.
We had dinner with Rich, Sonja and Luna on Monday night. they came over to meet the new "kids" we went and had thai food. it was yummy. sonja was upset because she was denied the "fried bananas" again. apparently they are really yummy and they are out everytime she is there.
Luna is a real cutie. her personality is really starting to come out. she's a real sweetie.
i should get to bed. i have tomorrow off due to working the weekend. it will be nice to have another day to chill before working the weekend.
this cold weather blows. it is supposed to 15 degrees early tomorrow morning. it is 38 now but it feels colder than that with the dreaded "wind chill" and i saw SNOW today! yuck. |

I thought i would take a minute to update you all on the goings on of my so called life.
The new cats are starting to tolerate each other much more. less hissing. joey and new orange cat whose name is "oscar" for now. we are seeing if it works. are enjoying chasing each other. Annie is a real cuddler and has a sweet, gentle soul like my Noah had and that's nice. The two new cats went to the vet to get their free check up from the shelter. they are fine.
work still sucks. i had to go to a meeting at corp about "image 6" which are key products/services the company feels "are big money makers" ie...push them down peoples throats until they choke and ask you to give them a push in the chest to eject the bullshit so they can submit to the pressure... anyway, if it wasn't for some of the people i work with, i think i would have gone insane by now. one of our really good lab people had his last day today. he recently graduated from college and got a job in his field. he is also moving to kansas city. we went out with him and some other coworkers for a couple of drinks to celebrate his last day. it was a good time. i wish him the best of luck...and congrats for getting away from the company.
don't get me wrong, some parts of my job are rewarding and others suck and that tends to be what i bitch about on here. i look around in the want ads weekly but not much is out there. so i am stuck in this rut wondering if i will ever get out. i am really hoping this will be my last holiday season with the company. i say that every year but this year its getting more and more clear that my philosophy on how to treat and deal with a customer is COMPLETELY different than theirs in so many ways.
some of the coworkers i work with are acting the children too. one in particular. her name is Erica. she booked a sitting last night at 7 30 pm and we close at 8. i was not only the only photographer, but the only manager... and the other people on were basically lab people who can help counter in a pinch but don't know how to do much. Thankfully they resceduled because i had to do 3 peoples studio ordes, book an on location sitting and reschedule an appt.... all of which could only be done by ME! all of this took a better chunk of that 7-8 hr.
today i told Erica i was mad at her. told her i would tell her why after her sitting. instead of talking to me, she goes to someone else and finds out about it and doesn't even bother to ask ME why I am UPSET. i would have told her in a calm but assertive way that what she did was unacceptable.
I should get to bed. i have to be at work at 8 am. thankfully the weekend is almost here. not much planned. i want to talk to john about going to the landscape arboretuem to see the fall colors. sat night we may go to the coworker i talked about earlier's going away party...
anyway,
